4-Day Machu Picchu, Cusco & Sacred Valley Tour from Lima | Flight & Train

Your journey begins with a pickup from your hotel, Lima Airport, or the cruise port, followed by a transfer to the airport for your flight to Cusco, the ancient capital of the Inca Empire.

Upon arrival at Cusco Airport, our representative will warmly welcome you and transfer you to your hotel. To help you adjust to the altitude, you’ll be offered a traditional coca tea or another refreshing local beverage. The rest of the morning is free to relax and acclimatize. We also recommend enjoying a light lunch at your hotel or one of Cusco’s excellent local restaurants.

In the afternoon, you’ll explore the highlights of Cusco on a guided city tour. Visit the impressive Koricancha (Temple of the Sun), once the most important religious center of the Inca Empire, before continuing to the city’s remarkable archaeological sites. Discover the majestic fortress of Sacsayhuamán, the ceremonial center of Q’enqo, the military outpost of Puka Pukara, and the ancient water temple of Tambomachay.

The tour concludes around 6:30 p.m. near Cusco’s historic Main Square (Plaza de Armas), where you can enjoy dinner at one of the city’s renowned restaurants before returning to your hotel for a restful overnight stay.

After breakfast, we will pick you up from your hotel between 6:30 and 7:00 a.m. to begin a full-day journey through the heart of the Sacred Valley of the Incas, visiting some of its most fascinating archaeological and cultural sites.

Our first stop is Chinchero, a traditional Andean village known for its colonial church, impressive Inca ruins, and colorful textile weaving demonstrations, where local artisans preserve centuries-old techniques. We then continue to Moray, an extraordinary Inca agricultural laboratory featuring a series of circular terraces believed to have been used to experiment with different crops and microclimates.

Next, we’ll visit the spectacular Maras Salt Mines, a breathtaking complex of more than 3,000 salt pools that have been harvested since pre-Inca times and continue to be worked by local families today. This unique landscape is one of the Sacred Valley’s most iconic attractions.

After exploring these remarkable sites, we’ll head to Urubamba, where you’ll enjoy a delicious buffet lunch at a local restaurant before continuing to the historic town of Ollantaytambo. Here, you’ll have time to explore one of the best-preserved living Inca towns, famous for its ancient streets, impressive terraces, and remarkable archaeological fortress.

In the afternoon, you’ll board the scenic train from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes, enjoying spectacular views of the Urubamba River and the surrounding cloud forest. Upon arrival, you’ll be transferred to your hotel, where you’ll spend the night in preparation for your visit to Machu Picchu the following day.

After an early breakfast at your hotel, we will take the first shuttle bus at approximately 5:30 a.m. from Aguas Calientes to reach the majestic Machu Picchu Citadel around 6:00 a.m. This early start allows you to enjoy the site with fewer crowds and experience the magical atmosphere of the Lost City of the Incas during the morning light.

Upon arrival, you will enter Machu Picchu with your guide and begin a fascinating 2-hour guided tour through this incredible archaeological wonder. During the visit, you will explore the most important sectors of the citadel, including the agricultural terraces, temples, ceremonial areas, and ancient stone structures, while learning about the history, mysteries, and engineering achievements of the Inca civilization.

After the guided tour, you will have free time to explore Machu Picchu at your own pace and, if your ticket includes it, enjoy your hike to Huayna Picchu Mountain, one of the most iconic viewpoints in Peru. From the summit, you can admire breathtaking panoramic views of the citadel and the surrounding mountains.

Once you have completed your Machu Picchu experience, you will return by bus to Aguas Calientes, where you can have lunch and relax before boarding the train back to Ollantaytambo. Upon arrival, our transportation will be waiting to take you back to Cusco, followed by a private transfer to your hotel.

After breakfast, enjoy your final morning in Cusco before we transfer you to the airport for your domestic flight from Cusco to Lima. Upon arrival in Lima, our team will be waiting to assist you with your connection and provide transportation to your preferred destination, whether it is your hotel, Lima Airport for your international flight, or the cruise port.
