9 Days Peru Tour Package – Cusco & Machu Picchu Adventure (FAQs)

What is the best time to visit Peru?
The best time to visit Peru is during the dry season, from May to October, when weather conditions are ideal for visiting Machu Picchu, hiking, and exploring the Andes.

Do I need a visa to travel to Peru?
Many nationalities can enter Peru visa-free for tourism for up to 90 days. We recommend checking the latest requirements with the Peruvian consulate in your country before traveling.

How far in advance should I book the tour?
It is recommended to book at least 2–3 months in advance, especially during the high season, as permits and train tickets to Machu Picchu sell out quickly.

Is Machu Picchu included in the tour package?
Yes. The package includes entrance tickets, round-trip train tickets, bus transportation, and a guided tour of Machu Picchu.

How difficult is the Humantay Lake hike?
The hike to Humantay Lake is considered moderate, mainly due to the altitude. Horses are available for rent for travelers who prefer assistance.

What is the altitude of Cusco?
Cusco is located at approximately 3,400 meters (11,155 ft) above sea level, so we recommend taking the first day slowly to acclimatize.

Is Rainbow Mountain suitable for beginners?
Yes, but due to the high altitude (over 5,000 meters), travelers should be in reasonable physical condition. ATV options help reduce the hiking effort.

Are meals included in the tour?
Some meals are included in the itinerary, such as hotel breakfasts and selected tour meals. Please review the “includes” section for complete details.

What type of accommodation is included?
The tour includes comfortable hotel accommodations in Lima, Cusco, and Aguas Calientes.

What currency is used in Peru?
The official currency is the Peruvian Sol (PEN), although US dollars are widely accepted in tourist areas.

Is travel insurance required?
Travel insurance is not mandatory but highly recommended to cover medical emergencies, cancellations, or travel delays.

What should I pack for the trip?
We recommend bringing comfortable walking shoes, warm layers, sunscreen, a hat, insect repellent, and a rain jacket, especially for mountain and jungle regions.

Are there luggage restrictions on the train to Machu Picchu?
Yes. Train companies usually allow one small backpack or bag (up to 5–8 kg) per passenger.

Can I hike Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain?
Yes. Optional hikes to Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain can be arranged in advance for an additional fee.

Is the tour suitable for children or older travelers?
Yes, the tour is suitable for most travelers; however, some activities involve high altitude and moderate hiking.

How safe is traveling in Peru?
Peru is generally safe for tourists, especially when traveling with organized tours and professional guides.

Will I have internet access during the trip?
Most hotels provide Wi-Fi, although connectivity may be limited in remote areas such as Machu Picchu or mountain regions.

What language do the guides speak?
Our professional guides speak English and Spanish. Other languages may be available upon request.

Are vegetarian or special diets available?
Yes. Vegetarian, vegan, and special dietary options can be arranged with prior notice.

How high is Machu Picchu?
Machu Picchu sits at approximately 2,430 meters (7,970 ft) above sea level, which is lower than Cusco and generally easier for visitors to handle.
