Your Amazon adventure begins with a transfer from your hotel or Lima Airport to board your domestic flight to Puerto Maldonado, the gateway to Peru’s spectacular Amazon Rainforest.

Upon arrival, our local team will greet you and transfer you to the river port, where you’ll board a comfortable motorized boat for a scenic journey along the Madre de Dios River to the Amazon Garden Lodge. Kayaking on the Madre de Dios River

Monkey Island

Board a short boat ride to Monkey Island, a protected habitat where several monkey species roam freely. Observe playful capuchins and squirrel monkeys while learning about their behavior, habitat, and the conservation efforts that protect them.

Amazon Sunset & Night Caiman Safari

As evening approaches, admire a spectacular Amazon sunset before enjoying dinner at the lodge. After dark, set out on an exciting night boat safari in search of white caimans, dwarf caimans, and other nocturnal wildlife. With the help of powerful spotlights, you’ll witness the rainforest come alive after sunset before returning to the lodge for a peaceful overnight stay immersed in the sounds of the jungle.

Wake up to the soothing sounds of the Amazon and enjoy a delicious breakfast featuring fresh tropical fruits, local specialties, and freshly brewed Peruvian coffee before setting off on one of the highlights of your journey.

After breakfast, you’ll travel by boat across the Madre de Dios River to the entrance of the Tambopata National Reserve, where registration is completed before beginning a guided 3-kilometer rainforest hike to the breathtaking Sandoval Lake. As darkness falls, head out on a guided Night Jungle Walk, where the rainforest reveals an entirely different world. Equipped with flashlights, you’ll search for nocturnal wildlife including colorful frogs, insects, spiders, reptiles, and other elusive creatures that emerge after sunset.

Return to the lodge in the evening for a delicious dinner and another peaceful overnight stay surrounded by the unforgettable sounds of the Amazon rainforest.

Your final day in the Amazon begins before sunrise with a scenic boat ride to the renowned Parrot Clay Lick, one of the Tambopata region’s most remarkable wildlife attractions. As the first rays of sunlight illuminate the rainforest, watch flocks of parrots and parakeets gather on the mineral-rich clay banks, where they feed on essential nutrients in a spectacular natural display.

From the observation area, enjoy excellent opportunities to photograph and observe a variety of Amazon bird species, including blue-headed parrots, mealy parrots, parakeets, and, depending on the season, colorful macaws.
