Cusco 4 day itinerary and Machu Picchu Package

Upon your arrival at Cusco Airport, our team will warmly welcome you and provide a comfortable transfer to your hotel. To help you adjust to the high altitude, you will receive a traditional coca tea, a natural Andean infusion commonly used to support acclimatization.

You will have the morning free to rest and allow your body to adapt to the altitude. We recommend enjoying a light lunch at your hotel or at one of the excellent local restaurants nearby before beginning your afternoon exploration of Cusco.

In the afternoon, we will start our guided Cusco City Tour, including entrance tickets to the main archaeological sites and museums. We will visit the historic Main Square (Plaza de Armas) and the impressive Koricancha Temple of the Sun, once the most important religious center of the Inca Empire.

Continuing our journey, we will explore the remarkable archaeological sites surrounding Cusco, including the monumental Sacsayhuamán Fortress, the ceremonial center of Q’enqo, the ancient military complex of Puka Pukara, and the water temple of Tambomachay. Throughout the tour, your professional guide will share fascinating insights into Cusco’s rich Inca heritage, history, and traditions.

The tour concludes at approximately 6:30 p.m. near the Main Square, giving you the perfect opportunity to enjoy dinner at one of Cusco’s excellent restaurants before returning to your hotel for a restful overnight stay.

After breakfast, we will pick you up from your hotel between 6:30 a.m. and 7:00 a.m. to begin an unforgettable full-day exploration of the Sacred Valley of the Incas, visiting some of the region’s most remarkable cultural and natural attractions.

Our first stop will be Chinchero, a traditional Andean village known for its rich textile heritage, impressive Inca terraces, and beautiful colonial church. Here, you will have the opportunity to learn about ancient weaving techniques preserved by local artisans and experience the traditions of the Andean communities.

We will continue to Moray, an extraordinary archaeological site featuring circular agricultural terraces built by the Incas. This unique place is believed to have been used as an experimental agricultural center, where different microclimates allowed the Incas to study and cultivate a variety of crops.

Next, we will visit the spectacular Maras Salt Mines, a fascinating collection of thousands of salt pools located on the mountainside. These salt terraces have been harvested since pre-Inca times and continue to be worked by local families today, creating one of the most impressive landscapes in the Sacred Valley.

After exploring these incredible sites, we will continue to Urubamba, where you will enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant while admiring the beautiful surroundings of the valley.

In the afternoon, we will visit Ollantaytambo, one of the best-preserved living Inca towns in Peru. You will explore its ancient streets, traditional canals, and impressive archaeological site, famous for its massive stone terraces and remarkable Inca architecture.

Later, we will board the scenic train from Ollantaytambo to Aguas Calientes (approximately 2 hours), enjoying breathtaking views of the Urubamba River, cloud forest, and surrounding mountains. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel in Aguas Calientes, where you will spend the night before your Machu Picchu adventure.

After an early breakfast at your hotel, we will take the first shuttle bus at approximately 5:30 a.m. from Aguas Calientes to Machu Picchu. The short 25-minute bus ride takes us up through the cloud forest to the entrance of the legendary Lost City of the Incas, arriving around 6:00 a.m. to enjoy this incredible site during the peaceful morning hours.

Upon arrival, you will enter Machu Picchu with your professional guide and begin a fascinating 2-hour guided tour. During the visit, you will explore the most important areas of the citadel, including ancient temples, ceremonial spaces, agricultural terraces, and impressive stone constructions, while learning about the history, mysteries, and achievements of the Inca civilization.

After the guided experience, you will have free time to continue exploring Machu Picchu at your own pace or enjoy your scheduled hike to Huayna Picchu Mountain (if this option has been reserved). From the summit, you can appreciate breathtaking panoramic views of the citadel and the surrounding mountains.

Once you have completed your visit to Machu Picchu, we will return by bus to Aguas Calientes, where you can enjoy lunch before boarding the train back to Ollantaytambo. Upon arrival, our transportation will be waiting to take you back to Cusco, followed by a private transfer to your hotel.

After breakfast, enjoy your final morning in Cusco before our team provides your private transfer to the airport or your preferred location in the city, marking the end of your unforgettable Cusco and Machu Picchu adventure.
